Tips & Advice

Favorite Wisconsin Wedding Venues

September 7, 2022

I’m Liz
As a former ICU nurse, I know what it’s like to be in high-stress situations. In fact, it’s where I thrive. I would love to bring my calm to the natural chaos that comes with planning your wedding.
About Me

Wisconsin is home to many unique wedding venues – as a Wisconsin wedding planner, I know how good they can get! If you’re looking for a venue with character you’re in luck. From an intimate Mediterranean-style villa to a converted modular metal building or even a converted art gallery, I’ve pulled together a range of properties to help you find your dream venue, right here!

These are some of my all time favorite Wisconsin wedding venues, ranging from Door County to Madison and Milwaukee. What makes these venues top tier in my book is: they have history behind them, they are all inclusive (meaning you can get married, take pictures and party all in one place), and they are incredibly easy to work with during planning. Don’t hesitate to check them out because they do book fast.

The Gage

A little modern and a little historical, The Gage is a modern industrial wedding venue located just outside of Milwaukee. My absolute favorite part about this venue is the classic Milwaukee cream city brick located throughout the venue! If there was bad weather on your wedding day you could take all your pictures inside and still have beautiful pictures. Which is a huge bonus considering how unpredictable Wisconsin weather can be. The brick also creates the perfect ceremony backdrop that allows you to create a one of a kind event.

The Gage is 7,000 square feet and can host up to 300 guests.

The Tinsmith

A 1925 Madison-original Trachte brothers building transformed into a stunningly unique event venue in downtown Madison. The inside of The Tinsmith is home to a beautiful Solarium, with an abundance of tropical plants (if you’re lucky you may spot a little lemon growing!), that are dying to be incorporated into your wedding photos. The venue’s high ceilings, retro green and gold bar, and modern accents truly create a luxury experience that still holds true to the venue’s industrial vibe.

The Tinsmith is 9,000 sq. ft. and can accommodate up to 200 guests.

The Grain Loft

The Grain Loft is an art gallery turned wedding venue in Algoma, just minutes south of Door County. Imagine this: you’re getting married in an enchanted garden, you can hear the birds chirping and are surrounded by trees and gardens. This is exactly what it is like to get married at The Grain Loft! Their unique ceremony space immerses you in their gardens and provides plenty of different photo opportunities

The Grain Loft is located directly across from Lake Michigan and is home to 15 acres of surrounding gardens and wooded trails. They can accompany up to 175 guests

The Villa Terrace

The Villa is an iconic Milwaukee venue. It is one of the few if not the only lakefront venues in downtown Milwaukee. This historic Mediterranean-style villa was once home to the family of Lloyd and Agnes Smith, and is now home to the Villa Terrace Decorative Arts Museum. It is the perfect venue for an intimate wedding or even elopement. This venue offers endless views of Lake Michigan from the terrace along with access to the Mercury Courtyard and Renaissance Gardens that transports you and your guests to another world!
